Holiday Assistance Program
Our Holiday Assisance Program serves over 400 children and their families every year.
Families are selected based on greatest need by many organizations throughout the Southern Tier of NY and Northern Tier of PA including Head Start, Healthy Families, CareFirstNY, and many local school districts.
Social workers who know the families best select the families most in need and work with parents to complete individualized profiles based on their individual needs and interests.
Every aspect of Heart to Heart’s work depends solely upon the generosity of our volunteers.
Ways To Help
Child or Family Adoption
When you adopt for the holiday we will send you individualized profiles to guide your shopping for the children who have been assigned to you for the season. You have 3-4 weeks to complete your shopping for the requested 3 toys and 2 clothing items per child, return them to us, and then we make sure everyone else in the family gets served evenly and take care of getting the gifts distributed back to the families.
Make a Financial Donation
You donate, we shop! If you'd like to contribute to helping children at Christmas but are not able to shop yourself please consider making a financial donation instead. We assure you that with the help of our amazing shoppers and volunteers we will put those funds to good use and will serve as many children and families as we can during the holiday season. All donations are tax deductible and are welcome throughout the year.
Give the Gift of Literacy
We believe in the importance of providing gifts to children that are not only fun but that also boost self-esteem and help aid in learning and literacy. We provide a book to every child who wants one in addition to their holiday gifts and clothing items. Children are able to select one of three books for their age group and we collect those books throughout the year. Please consider donating books and giving the gift of literacy today.

Provide Family Support
When we provide items that encourage family connection or improve quality of life for the entire family then we are also improving the lives of the individual children in the household. Throughout the year we collect games that promote parent and family engagement and household items that improve the lifestyle of the entire family. We take donation of specific items from our Family Support list throughout the year.
